Scientific name Artemisia Absinthium, this plant is also used in the manufacture of the drink of the same name. Of bitter taste, the plant gives rise to a tea that can be used for medicinal purposes. The plant is cultivated by means of seeds, division of clumps or by cutting, and the ideal soil for its cultivation is something between clayey and sandy, but fertile and deep. Resistant to diseases, the plant is very easy to grow, but must live without weeds nearby, as these damage its development.

There are records that point out that losna has been used for thousands of years, because of its medicinal properties. In Ancient Greece, it was used to honor the goddess Artemis; today it is used in the manufacture of alcoholic absinthe and can be made a tea that offers various benefits of the plant. Its main characteristic is the bitter taste. It is said that this characteristic was quoted in a proverb of Solomon, who would have said: "Unfaithfulness, though it may be exciting and sweet in its beginning, has a bitter end as the worm."
