Also known as mauve-white and mauve-velvet, the Douradinha do Campo - or simply Douradinha - is a herbaceous plant of the family Escrofulariaceae that has a quadrangular stem, measuring up to 10 centimeters in height. It is a plant antiveliosa, diuretic-purgativa, emenagoga and emetocarártica. Some scholars assume it to be poisonous, but in some countries Douradinha occupies the top spot on the home medicine issue. It is possible to find such a plant abundantly in Asia, Africa and Australia, but it proliferates well in almost all the world. Its active principles are alkaloids tannins and saponins. With propertiesdepurative, energetic, diuretic, weight-loss, hypotensive, anti-inflammatory, stimulant, sudorific, emollient, cardiotonic and antialbuminuric, this can be a great ally in the treatments of several simple and even serious pathologies.
