Condurango great Herb for patients on Cancer Treatment

Condurango Bark - Gonolobus Condurango Triana

Origin: Peru

Used part: Bark

Description:

The part of Condurango that is used in medicinal remedies is the dried bark of branches and the trunk of the tree.  Condurango grows on the western slopes of the Andes in Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia.

Health benefits:

Condurango improves digestion by stimulating the production of saliva and digestive juices.  It has also shown an ability to treat tumors in animals, and it was once thought to be a useful treatment for early cancers in humans. Its effectiveness against human cancer remains unconfirmed, however, and its former use as a treatment for stomach cancer has been discontinued.

Good Herbal Remedy:

  • Analgesic, carminative and tonic
  • Hemostatic and against ulcer
  • Anti-Snakebites
  • Dyspepsia
  • Chronic anemia
  • Cancer (stomach)
  • Indigestion and appetite loss

Directions:

  1. Add 1.5gm (about one-quarter teaspoonful) of crushed Condurango to cold water
  2. Bring to a boil for 10 minutes
  3. Cool the tea, then strain and drink

Condurango also can be made into a medicinal wine.  Add 50-100gm (between one-quarter and one-half cup) of crushed Condurango to each liter of wine.

Take 1 cup of Condurango tea or 1 liquor glass of wine with each meal.

Contraindications:

Contraindicated during pregnancy (Popularly it is also used as an emenagogue and abortifacient) and patients under treatment with cardiotonic heterosides, for the possible potentiation of its action. Do not prescribe dosage forms with alcohol content to children under two years of age or to consultants in the process of alcoholic withdrawal. Consult with your doctor before consuming any medicine including natural.
